Chrome Extension Activity

If you haven't signed up for a Helium 10 account yet (there's a free trial version!) or downloaded and installed the Chrome Extension, pause the course and go do it now. You'll need to be able to use the tools as you work your way through the lessons.

To sign up, simply fill out this short form on the Helium 10 website. All you need is your name, an email you want to use for your e-commerce business, and a password.

Once you have signed up, and installed the extension, log into your regular Amazon account using the Chrome Extension browser, and locate the Helium 10 icon in the menu bar right of the search bar.

Before we jump into more training with the Chrome Extension, familiarize yourself with the various tools in the extension by completing the following tasks:

  1. Query a product using the search field on the main Amazon page.
  2. Scan the search results page and locate the new data that now appears with each product displayed.
  3. Open the new Helium 10 Chrome Extension drop down menu and click on Xray. Note what kinds of data load up in the new display window. Close out Xray.
  4. Open the drop down menu again, and click on the ASIN Grabber tool.
  5. Review the list of ASINs that are displayed, then close out the ASIN Grabber window.
  6. Click on one of the products on the search page, and go to its product page.
  7. On the product page, click on each of the available tools, first Xray, noting that is is only displaying the data for this product, rather than a long list of products like it did on the search results page. Close Xray.
  8. Click on Profitability Calculator and check out the various data for the product. Does any of it surprise you? Close the calculator.
  9. Click on Inventory Levels and note how many sellers there are, and how much inventory is in stock. Close Inventory Levels.
  10. Click on Review Insights. Choose a couple of options and click on Extract reviews. Close Review Insights.

When you've completed this activity, go ahead and move forward to the second lesson in the Chrome Extension section of this course, in which Bradley teaches about Xray.
